East Link Bike Trail

East Link Bike Trail is open now.

Yesterday, I have gone though the trail from High St to Burwood Hwy. The barrier has been removed and road cross lights are working; also the road cross for Burwood Hwy is in operating as well.

It's very nice concrete bike path, with clean surface (compare with the blind creek trail I'm riding, where I have got flat tyre once a month). After the Burwood Hwy traffic. I could all the way ride to the Heathmont without any interruption by road crossing and traffic light.

I'm really happy with the path although it's 2km longer than go though Blind Creek Trail and Stud Rd bike path. But, from High St to Burwood Hwy, it's a climbing, not very hard but a little longer with the headwind! It definitely reduces your speed and takes more time as such a distance. The other thing is the crossing under the East Link. I hope they can finish the job quickly to replace the rough surface.

Anyway, it's a good path and I really enjoy the non-stop riding after Burwood Hwy crossing. I decide to take this route as my back home riding.

This morning, another PB record for me,
Time 43'48''
Avg 24.4 kph

Daylight saving finished!

It's good for commuters. I don't have to ride in the dark for at less another 2 weeks.
Anyway, I have ordered a L2D CE Q5 torch from the Torchworld as winter's coming.
It should arrive today.
I have watch this video in Youtube, and I think it's enough for a medium speed riding on dark bike trail.

Big wind, big dark

Get up late again this morning.
Wenesday had a very strong wind. It caused a lot of damage in Melbourne. But I still rode to work in the bad weather. Sometimes I couldn't move against the wind even it's a descent.
I am quite happy to ride in a bad weather. It's a feeling you can't get from normal commuting.
I had gotten wet everywhere which I didn't care at all. My new mudguard works very well.

I wasn't happy with the second day morning riding, because the bike trail was too dark and the after rain mess made it quite dangerous. A lot of branches just lay on the road, and when you see it in the darness, it's too close to make a response. Anyway, I managed to arrive the office safetly.

So from now on, I'm after a very good bright headlight to replace my poor weaky small LED headlight.

Darkness Autumn Morning

Dark, the endless darkness is in the earlier morning.

My riding became more dangerous. The head light is not bright enough. The bike path became unclear after the night shower. It's wet and the leaves & branches is everywhere.

I can't see the front properly. I can't see the road ahead. But I still jumped into this darness. My face was wet by the spilling water; my leg was scraped by the branches. But I was still riding.

It's my way. I ride by my feeling.

Can't stop buying!

I really need help!
I can't stop buying bike staff from Torpedo7.
I brought some tubes and socks and mudguard yesterday.
I have spent over $2k since I start commuting by bike from October last year. It's much expensive than driving!!!
